Dobby

26 December 2017

We adopted Dobby the beagle 6 months ago through SAFE Karratha after spotting him on petrescue (although he was actually in Perth) after his owner had to go into care & there was no one to take him.

We absolutely adore him and he has settled in so well with us. He has enjoyed lots of trips to the dog park, beach & camping and with a bit of training has become really great off-lead. We loved spending our first Christmas with him and he was spoilt with presents from both sets of grandparents!

He's got such a beautiful nature and is great around other dogs and loves all people (& all people seem to love him). He is terribly stubborn and we get lots of sitting protests when it’s time to head home at the end of our walks. He adores food, belly rubs, food, walks, snuffling, soft toys and food! He's on a diet though and has lost about 3kg since we got him!

So many people are surprised to hear he is a rescue so we are getting lots of chances to explain that not all rescue dogs have had a rough background and in need of an experienced owner - they should always look to adopt because their perfect buddy could be waiting for them!

Thanks for saving our little Dobbler so he could become a part of our family!!
